THE 64TH COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN (CSW64) AND BEIJING + 25 REVIEW AND APPRAISAL

The State Department has continued with preparations for the sixty-fourth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (64^th CSW) will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 9^th – 20^th March 2020.

The main focus of the session will be on the review and appraisal of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action

Concept papers for Ministry Led Side Events finalized & participating countries and agencies notified.

• Women, Peace and Security: Peer Review on Strengthening Systems for Inclusion of Women in Peace building including in the Security Sector: Kenya, Namibia, Finland, African Union, UN Women and Global Network for Women Peacebuilders.
• Beyond ICPD + 25: Getting to Zero FGM, Child Marriage and other Harmful practices: Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, United Kingdom, Denmark and UNFPA.
• 3^rd Concept Note: Food and Nutrition Security being finalized by Council of Governors. A draft budget has been prepared for discussion. Schedule for CS initiated in accordance with the Organization of Work.
