UNEP at the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79)

Kenya is honored to be co-sponsoring a High-Level Event along with China, Mexico, Denmark, UN Women and France on the Sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The event dubbed 'Beijing +30: Towards Gender Equal World' marks the starting point to assess progress towards the achievement of gender equality ahead of the commemoration of the thirtieth anniversary of Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPFA)

PS Anne Wangombe who is attending the event, has used the platform to highlight the country’s progress in accelerating meaningful participation of women and girls in leadership and decision-making levels since the landmark 1985 World Conference on the Nairobi Forward Looking Strategies (NFLS), that reviewed and appraised the achievements of the UN Decade for Women and the 1995 BPFA.
